 The American Legion was chartered by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic, war-time veterans organization, devoted to mutual helpfulness. It is a not-for-profit community-service organization which now numbers nearly 3 million members, men and women, in nearly 15,000 American Legion posts worldwide. The American Legion webpage is your pathway to information on recent events in all three branches of the Legion here at Post 42. Here at the American Legion, we offer a common ground where our former military members and families of these members can meet and talk while having a great time. Here at Post 42, we offer pool, darts, euchre, pull tabs, bingo, and trips to casinos and many other exciting events.
